“The creation of the world did not take place once and for all time, but takes place every day.” ―Samuel Beckett
Every day you and I create the world in which we live. Sometimes this involves the carrying on of meaningful traditions, ensuring the message behind the ritual experience continues to live on for new generations. Sometimes this involves sweeping aside traditions where the meaning has been lost and the ritual is merely an empty gesture. Sometimes we build something new, and sometimes we wield the power of creative destruction. Either by our actions or our inactions we shape our lives, our communities, and the web of all existence.
What are we creating in our lives, in our families, in our religious home, and in our larger community? Collectively we at UUCJ should be creating loving servants who build welcoming communities and a just world. I am honored to be part of a religious tradition and a religious community with such a mission! And I look forward to the years ahead that we will share living this mission!
Joy, peace, and love,
